These Military Exercises are part of developments INSIDE America! The Big Unanswered Question is Why?
Are American events too entrenched to stop or influence? Can America any longer claim in all honesty, to be the “Leader of the Free World”? In Britain we should be made aware. What happens there is likely to happen here.
One thing is for sure, these unprecedented domestic deployments and military exercises must be aimed at a DOMESTIC audience and perceived threat by those who order them. They are unquestionably a form of army mobilisation, when it appears to the civilian population, there is no immediate threat or reason to justify it. They are are part of much wider developments that are profoundly worrying.
Although America has been one of the most aggressive states in the world, it has been careful to ensure the military keep a low profile domestically, and project itself as benign and patriotic protector of the much vaunted American “freedom” and way of life. This appears to be changing, though no-one has explained why it is necessary, or where the impulse is coming from.
Is it coming from the President in the White House, or is it emanating in spite of it, from the centres of power such as the Pentagon, FBI, Homeland Security or even CIA? It is doubtful that State or Municipal Government has requested it, as it runs counter to every fibre of American history and constitution, yet invariably, as was seen at Boston, they appear to accept it without demure, a point made eloquently by the late Gore Vidal at the start of the third video above.
The deployment of troops within the country; exercises that also involve the police in an essentially military role; the whole tenure of police equipment, uniform and posture; all have ominous overtones of marshal law, suspension of legal protections and fascist dictatorship.
Could it be possible that the United States Government is actively intending to go further down this road to disaster for it and the world? If so what can be the underlying rationale or purpose? What do they know that we don’t? What could cause unrest on such a scale as to require the wholesale deployment of troops within the country?
One is forced to conclude, nothing short of a cataclysmic event, such as widespread domestic terrorism, rioting and disorder, international warfare or economic collapse could give due cause.
Are any or all of these being actively planned for? If not, what could possibly justify it? Perhaps, on the basis of “what America does today, we are likely to do tomorrow”, we should be told.
These events cannot be viewed in isolation, and they take on an even more sinister hue when viewed in the context of other developments.
It is impossible to get away from the events of 9/11 and those that followed. Increasingly Americans are waking up to the impossibility of the official explanation, which when linked to the Government’s failure to move away from it, must mean culpability and involvement.
Cameron’s reference to the subject in his recent UN speech, calling not for proper enquiry but criminal sanctions against those that do, is as unbelievable as it is worrying. Are the military exercises an extension of that criminal conspiracy? Is America getting ready to control the consequences of an outraged public?
The Congress and people supinely acceded to the Patriot Act following the events of 9/11, no one posing the simple question how it was possible such a complicated statute was immediately available to place before the legislature, so willing to abandon hard won and fundamental rights and freedoms. Clearly it had been drafted months, if not years, before the events of 9/11 which were used as the excuse to pass it.
On the basis of an outrageous lie, the American government was also prepared to kidnap; imprison without trial; torture; assassinate foreign nationals and US nationals without trial; and pursue aggressive war contrary to international law. With this sort of record, the question as to whether America is capable of further infringements of civilized behaviour, becomes somewhat unnecessary.
As I have said many times, if the American Government, or a cabal within it, was capable of an outrage like 9/11, to pursue equally nefarious actions elsewhere, it is capable of anything. The current military manoeuvres may be the latest manifestation of the same evil.
Only Americans are responsible for their country and the actions of its government at home and abroad. We in Europe are correspondingly responsible for the way in which we handle things here, and those in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones. Nor should we be complacent, believing it couldn’t happen here. We cannot be blind to the fact that virtually everything America has done we have aped and been supportive of, so the way America behaves can be taken as a warning that there may be those in our own government that want to follow suit.
This is not an hypothetical point of view. It can be seen and heard in the words of the Prime Minister already referred to, and in the waspish “crime-busting” smile of the current Home Secretary, arguing for yet more government powers to detain and control, whilst whittling away existing freedoms and protections. Blair succeeded in taking us to war. Fortunately he was frustrated in respect of some of his domestic policies but as we have seen with Syria, government, or dubious elements within it, does not give up and go away. When at first they don’t succeed, they try (and try) again and if the hat doesn’t fit they make a new one.
We can also see it very visibly and ominously in parallel moves to arm, militarise and centralise the police. Scotland has helpfully gone even further down this road by arming ALL policemen and creating just one force. So much for devolution encouraging pacifism and decentralisation when quite the opposite is the case.
The more criminal law enforcement is centralised, the more prone it becomes to political influence and corruption, as has been demonstrated in Scotland with the Holly Grieg case.
So it is for everyone who values an open and free society, in which dark forces are restrained and the innocent are allowed to go about their law abiding business unmolested by government, to be alert to all and every attempt, on whatever pretext, to change for the worse the rules of a civilized society, and to make it clear it will not be tolerated.
Hopefully the American population will do the same and rise to the challenge, demanding that the military exercises so evident across the nation and the profound threat they entail, be stopped in their tracks. The shocking scene in the third video, of an American man being arrested by a policeman, for merely putting forward a point of view at a public meeting, should be enough to persuade one and all what is at stake.
